Hey y’all,

Thanks for signing up (with the form on this page) for the first (and only) Emergence Convergence virtual fly fishing tournament! we are stoked to see what you find out there during this once in a life-time experience. we really appreciate all the hype so far, and your patience reading this long post.

We have a BUNCH of categories for prizes sponsored by our partners. In fact, we’re still working on prizes, so the list is incomplete, (and subject to change). Each category will only have one winner. We’ll keep this page updated, and winners will be announced a week after the tournament ends on June 22nd at sunset. Stay tuned for locations for the tournament after-parties which will be on June 28th or 29th in Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina. If you want to host an after-party, let us know.

Just remember, this is all for good old fashioned FUN. don’t stress about this stuff, and don’t get at mad at us for being bad at organizing tournaments. be cool, help each other out and SPREAD THE CICADA GOSPEL.

To enter for a prize, depending on the category, you have to do the following:

For Fish Prizes:

  1. Save and print the token at the bottom of the page, write your name on it, and make sure it’s in the photo of your catch.
  2. Must be caught on a cicada fly – DUH
  3. Take a photo of the fish on a measuring board, you can manipulate the jaw and fins to make it as long as you can.
  4. Measure the girth at the girthiest point with a tape measure. this will be used in the event of a length tie.
  5. Send your photos to alan@southerncultureonthefly.com with the subject heading YOUR NAME – EMERGENCE CONVERGENCE
  6. Post the picture on socials with the hashtag #emergenceconvergence

For Fly Tying Prizes:

email us a photo of your entry, and post it with the #emergenceconvergence hashtag.

For Art Prizes:

email us a photo or a copy of your work and post it on socials.

For Stupid Prizes:

take a video (please) or photo and email it to us, and/or post it and tag us on instagram.
